New Ibanez JS2480 – Refinished in collaboration with Joe Satriani for charity auction with all proceeds going to Pasadena Humane.
“I love making these crazy, beautiful guitars with David. His work is stunning. Each guitar we’ve collaborated on has turned out to be special, unique and striking. And, all for a good cause!” –Joe Satriani
“It’s an absolute honor and privilege to create these incredible guitars with Joe. He’s been one of my biggest inspirations since I first picked up a guitar, and now he’s also my favorite collaborator in art! Getting to merge music and visual creativity with him – and then donating these pieces to a great cause – has been an unforgettable experience.” — David Bonvillain
This guitar (and headstock) has a glow-in-the-dark base with a white galaxy design in fluorescent acrylics that Joe then painted front and back, and was finished in a urethane clear-coat. The sustainer was swapped with a black driver/neck pickup and set back up with 9’s from Stringjoy. All original Ibanez paperwork + certificate from Bonvillain Design Studio that Joe signed as well (he also signed the guitar in the spring cavity).
The auction listing is planned for the week of April 14th – more details on the listing and such will be provided soon.
